You lovely lot went bonkers for my original sea swimmers so I thought it was only right that I release a new design to satify yours (and mine!) sea swimming obsession! Evening Cobo swims are just the best. Swimming under the gorgeous golden sunset, warms my soul and fills me with so much happiness. 

I was a little addicted to sea swimming in Guernsey, when the beaches were on my doorstep. Now that I can no longer hop on down to the beach, I treasure those precious sunset swims even more when I visit.

Sea swimming is good for your heart and If you know me, you know I adore a dip and I'm not alone! You Guernsey folk are bonkers for sea swimming! Rain or shine, I see so many of you running into the sea for a refreshing and exhilarating swim. 

Since moving to Manchester, I have 100% missed my sea swimming mornings. I used to go daily with my wonderful friends.

Sea Swimmers 

I am really delighted that I won the 'Our Islands' Competition back in 2020, run by the Chamber of Commerce. I loved seeing my illustration on the cover of September's issue of Contact magazine. My wibbly wobbly, colourful town seafront is also available as prints, cards and even tea towels!

A view of the town harbour

A cheeky seagull chomping on the famously tasty chips at Cobo chippy! Cobo is celebrated for it's spectauclar sunset views, making it summer hot spot for many Guerns, especially romantic couples! It's these wonderful memories of tucking into a bag of chips, watching the glorious views of the sun glowing and glistening on the sea, that sparked the idea for this illustration.

Cobo Seagull

Lunch date at Cobo 

I am super excited to share this commission for the incredible charity Hope For A Child! I had a wonderful time collaborating to create a lemon tree with Malawian patterns integrated into the earth. This illustration is now being sold as a limited edition print. The best part is with every print sold, a family in rural Malawi receives a real fruit tree to plant next to their home along with training to care for it!

Over 270 steps down, across a rocky obstacle and you land on a slice of paradise! I chuckle at a time I went on a date to Petit Port and got so stressed trying to climb up those steps whilst trying to maintain a conversation and look cute.

A Charming Garden

The very very tasty Wheadon's Gin!  A gorgeous gin that is handcrafted on the wonderful island of Guernsey with ingredients foraged locally. This collage was sold by Hope Store over the Christmas period! I hope it is enjoying it's new home wherever that maybe, perhaps above a cocktail cabinet or bar!

A precious spot for reading, carrot cake munching and jumping in from the Moorings. During the pandemic this became a particularly spiritual beach for me, a place where I could reflect and pray.

Saints Bay

Here is my latest collage of the beautifully charming Town Church in St Peter Port. This is my third collage of St Peter Port with having previously illustrated the town sea front and the high street! So so many teenie, tiny, textured bricks and detailed window arches! Guernsey Lily 

Fermain bay is a hidden little gem! The perfect place for sea swimming after a gorgeous walk through the enchanting Bluebell Wood. You can also soak up the sun and admire gorgeous views of the surrounding islands, while tucking into a delicous lunch at the cafe. This is definitley one of my favourite summer spots!

Fermain Bay

A joyful commission for a 60th birthday! These little hedge veg stalls are dotted all over Guernsey, where locals sell yummy home grown fruit, veggies and homemade goodies! The stalls have an honesty box where you can pay for your treats. It's such a lovely way to shop and I get so excited when I spot a new stall while out and about on the island.

This is an illustration of a boat I saw whilst on a swimming adventure and the fishermen gloves made me smile! The boat number has been personalised and is the customer's wedding anniversary. It is a beautiful reminder of all their precious times together.

Cocktails and Cats

Exhibition at Inanna Boutique

I decided to get out my comfort zone and experiment with a more abstract way of creating. Through learning about the importance of pollinators and solitary bees I discovered bug hotels. Immediately I found myself drawn to the patterns within these structures, I created this piece to celebrate the wonderful shapes seen within bug hotels. Textures were created through different brush techniques but through printing with nature such as leaves and wood. 

Whilst creating this piece I kept having a creative crisis, questioning so much….I couldn’t let go and be free…despite that fact I preach this when I am teaching...I felt like a huge hypocrite! It felt like I was sat by the side of a pool dipping my toe in and peering instead of splashing around. I had to go back to methods which challenged my sense of comfort and creativity and I ended up painting blind drawings of fields of wild flowers and cutting shapes out of those textures. I really enjoyed this challenge.

Bug Hotel

Abstract piece exploring the importance of bees. 

Meet Apricot! A rather joyful hedgehog. Apricot is catching up on local news whilst she waits for her spikey transformation (5000 spikes!! I think she may actually need to lie on a massage table in order to dye all those body and booty spikes) 

The island of Alderney is home to a lovely population of blonde Hedgehogs !! !!     
It is estimated that 60% of the 400-600 Hedgehogs have these glorious golden spikes.

Apricot the Alderney Hedgehog

Meet Florence the barn owl, my neighbour during the pandemic! It was such a pleasure to spend time with this hunny pie and her siblings. We spent what felt like hours in bushes observing them fly in and out the boxes and learning more about their day to day living. (they had to be registered as part of an owl count) This collage is a tribute to these amazing creatures and is available at Hope Store Guernsey.
